Happy New Year!
Well let me just wish everyone a happy new year!  May God bless each and every one of you fellow bloggers.  My prayer for 08 is easy.  God give us signs and wonders and souls!  How’s that - simple request right.  Lord give us the nations…and give us our nation too. Thanks for my family, our awesome church, great friends and leaders - even our challenges and for Christ’s great...

Christmas musings
Well now I can relax a little and take a few days off.  After an outrageously (but fun) busy time now I can have some time with family and friends - read a couple of books…I started a new one this morning by Jerry Jenkins on the life of John Mark - a fictional account of his life based on the gospels and the book of Acts.  So far - very good. Christmas was awesome.  Packed crowds in both...

Christ in Xmas
The countdown continues to Christmas for most of us so now the task of keeping our time “Christ-centered” is truly at hand. I did think it was interesting to note that keeping Christ in Christmas has not always been the dilemma we face today.  As a matter of fact did you know that the Christmas celebration (primarily from England and Germany) was such a wild, ungodly, and even...

Jesus is Absolutley the Christ →
In my message of 12/23 I spelled out some of the mathematical odds of probability that Jesus is the Christ.  This was taken from this web page and the work of expert mathematician Peter Stoner.  Check it out!

See the Glory - Astrophotography →
Hey catch this great web site of my friend Richard Hammar…he’s the legal offical for the AG - a brain - and real God chaser.  His astrophotography is amazing and glorifies the Lord. Also check out his teaching on the Bethlehem star!

Countdown....
Ok it’s Friday night, we have just finished a really long day at the office getting ready for several services that await us over the next few days.  The music, media and messages are for the most part in place and so now we simply wait…we countdown. Oh, not just for the services…and hopefully not just for the presents, food and festivities…but for the thing that really...

Ups and downs
I continue to be amazed at the ups and downs, of this thing called ministry.  This weekend was just full of them, and I want to tell you they play with your emotions big time.  For instance…we start the weekend with an upper….performing Allison Chester’s wedding!  This beautiful young lady now married…imagine it.  She was a grade school-er when we came here…but the...

How low can "you" go?
I was so bummed out after writing that last blog - I just had to find something to bring perspective and I did!  Not long ago I ran across this little thought from Max Lucado in his book, The Applause of Heaven…. But you Bethlehem in the Land of Judah, are you not least among the rulers of Judah; for out of you shall come a ruler - who will shepherd my people Israel…(Mt 2:6) A small...

God is missing?
After spending several hours in NY city filming the beginning of my message for tomorrow…and by the way even though it was cold, I took the staff with me and we had a blast…anyway I must admit I was acutally staggered by the fact that we honestly could find not a single store or even adverstisement that connected Jesus Christ with the holiday season. If you don’t believe it - go...

Steroids, shooting and Savior
Strange days we are living in, huh?  Actually I spoke in central Jersey last night and one of the guys at our table said it best.  These are the days the Bible calls…”lawlessness”.  How true…how sad. So what are we to do, or as the great Francis Shaeffer once commented, “how then should we live?”  Well in days like these I take great comfort in the solace of a...

Saddness...
Well the information has now pretty much filtered out concerning the terrible events in Colorado.  At the YWAM center in Arvada and New Life Church in Colorado Springs, young meaningful lives have been lost because of anger, offense and thoughts of vengeance.  When will our society every learn we can’t train our children that human life means very little and then be suprised when things like...

Worry!
Well, it’s 2PM on Saturday and I just put the finishing touches on my message for tomorrow morning.  All day I have been thinking about how amazing these Xmas (see Dec. 1 blog ) verses really are.  The amazement has kept me steady through one of the longest preparation times I have had in a long time. But almost every time I would feel antsy and want to go watch Sports Center my eyes would...

Merry Christmas Fervor!
OK….believers are raising up a voice of protest about this whole Merry Christmas versus Happy Holidays thing….thank God.  After my blog of several days ago, now I have a number of people speaking up.  And for those of you who didn’t see it, we have had a little email poem circulating around the church and some kind soul sent it to me.  It really says it all….it’s a...

Raise a child up...
This morning in my quiet time I read Judges 1.  Startling stuff even though I have read it many times before.  I must admit I was saddened by the verses (10-13) that talk about a generation arose who did not know the Lord nor the works (miracles) He had done for Israel. It proved sobering to me - to think about the huge job we as parents and church leaders have to not let this happen to the next...

Bah- Hum- "bug" continued
Another weekend and I find myself bugged that it snows on Sunday morning and creates such problems for people to get to church.  Sorry, but that bugs me…Oh well - there is always next Sunday and we can try again.  It  would be nice if God could arrange every Sunday across the world to be 72 degrees and sunny between 8AM and 1 PM …other than that let the weather do whatever.  That...

What's the "Xmas" thing about?
Not long ago I sent a note to a friend for Christmas but used the term Xmas.  Well he got back to me quick and not happy.  He told me I was taking Christ out of Christmas.  Well, hello, I don’t really think I would do that would I?  So I told him before he blew a head gasket to cool down and I explained to him that the term Xmas had been used for centuries.  Because “Christ” is...
