I always want my blog to be a helpful tool to friends as well as a place of some inspiration, fun, and personal thoughts.  So here is a short article I found to be very wise instruction for this day and age.  Enjoy.

Will of God works
I just had to write a few sentences of encouragement to all fellow blogites about trusting the will of God.  There is an old saying that is proved true time and time again.  “The will of God won’t take you where the grace of God can’t keep you”. Wow, true, true true.   I realized this so very much yesterday in church as I listened to our missionary (sorry can’t name)...

True Renewal
One of the newsletter services I subscribe to is a piece that comes from Pastor Rick Warren of the huge Saddleback Community Church in Southern California.  I find he has amazing insight into the present day culture in which we live.  Last week he sent out an article that stated it was his conviction that we are getting ready for another reformation in the church both in our nation and around the...

Happy Birthday John...
Today, our baby turned 31… whew, that’s scary.  Anyway, I took him for a little b-day golf, and he tied his best score ever - 82… and it could have easily been a 77 or 78.  Nice job son.  Your Mom and Dad are super proud of you not just because you shoot good golf… but because you do life so well and so godly.  Happy Birthday.

Lucky Tiger?
OK golf fans does the Tiger know how to entertain or what?  I mean love him or hate him the feedback is the same - “wow, what a show” (and not bad Rocco too). You know when I was a kid I use to wear my hair in a crew cut and the cool thing to put in your hair to keep it standing up straight was a hair-wax called Tiger Wax. It was put out by a company called Lucky Tiger (see pic)....

Good Ol’ School Days
Yesterday was a fun day at church as we honored about a dozen of our High Schoolers who are graduating this year.  Every year John and Susie and their team put together a really awesome video of the kids as their parents parade them up front while John and Susie read all of their accomplishments in school and youth group and community endeavors etc.  It’s always cool to hear the great things the...

Quest - ized....
Exhausted?… absolutely.  Elated?… beyond words.  Optimistic?… right on.  Last night we finished the Quest… Take the Land Conference at Bethany.  Wow, what a blow out.  The energy for God that comes out of these conferences amazes me.  It’s always incredible to see how God honors people’s hunger for him. Of course as the pastor I was thrilled beyond words to see...

LOST - you got that right!
Ok, it’s been a few days since i have had a chance to blog, but I didn’t want this opportunity to pass me by.  Last Thursday night about a dozen of our College Career gang came over to the house to watch the final episode of the year of LOST. Now let me add i would love to think they wanted to watch this with me and Donna because they love us so much… well I do think they love...
