Puerto Rico thoughts

The lovely Donna and I just got back from the Assistant Superintendent Conference in San Juan. The setting was great weather good, but I can’t believe we never even set foot on the beach - all of 20 steps from our room.  The fellowship was really rich and I love that there are no speakers and it is based around everyone is on level ground because we all serve in the same position.  Much of the talk had to do with the issue of tongues as initial evidence.  I can’t believe it’s back being debated - but here we go.  I did love Phil Edwards thoughts about the book of James saying - the tongue is the most unruly part of the body - maybe this is why God wants to get a hold of it so bad.  If he can control our tongues - maybe the rest will cooperate. Hah, makes sense to me.

Actually I cherish my personal time of praying in tongues.  It is so edifying to just think the devil has no access to my prayer and the Spirit is interceding through me in a powerful way.

It is my dream that every person in my church would have this experience.  Especially the young!  I was filled with the Spirit in my 20’s and wow what a powerful “additive” it has been to my life all these years.

If you are reading this and don’t have the baptism of Spirit - Go for it…try it you will like it.
