Perspective

Actually I feel too tired to do this - but since they announced my blog in church today - I guess I should get something up today. After all even the Patriots - Colts game is not getting me all that jazzed - so I guess I have time.  But then again since the Yankees are done (for real), the Broncos stink, the Jets stink, Colorado is up and down like an airplane and they too stunk it up this weekend.  Maybe I can concentrate on God this weekend.

I did have a blast a church today and hope the folks were blessed and challenged by my message on life-lifters and being encouragers to those around us.  I know it’s hard to do - I struggle with it at times too - but I know the Lord wants all of us to be doing it.  It is really time we undo the wrong perceptions our culture has about believers.  What bugs me is that a lot of their critique is deserved.  So I hope we can start changing things.  I talked about being “balcony people”.. Thanks to John Ortberg and Joyce Landorff for reminding me about the term.  Tomorrow I want to be a balcony person to at least one person.  It shouldn’t be that hard because we start minister’s school and someone will come and things in their church will be crummy - so maybe I can encourage them.

Oh Yea, thanks to our awesome church for giving the pastors an appreciation gift. How cool is that!   We are all blessed.

Now to wrap this up.  Man if you have not listened to Barry McGuire (especially you young folks)…try it out.  He is old like me and straight out of the Jesus movement like Donna and me.  But he is a Jesus lover first class.  I have included a link to his web-site - give it a shot.
