God is missing?
After spending several hours in NY city filming the beginning of my message for tomorrow…and by the way even though it was cold, I took the staff with me and we had a blast…anyway I must admit I was acutally staggered by the fact that we honestly could find not a single store or even adverstisement that connected Jesus Christ with the holiday season.
If you don’t believe it - go check it out for yourself. God has been conveniently removed from our culture, except for the churches. This is the first time I have honestly noticed. What we have been fearing is really upon us. We have talked about it and theorized about - and sadly chose to be silent about it - but right from under our nose - God is missing! I can’t believe we have allowed this to happen.
At Macy’s…missing - Nordstrom…no where - Saks…silent - Neiman Marcus…nope - Penny’s…pathetic - and strangest of all…Lord and Taylors…removed. The very store is named for the Lord. In 1826 the owner wanted always his name and ownership of the store linked to the Lord.
Well as I said in my message last week - perhaps that’s the reason they call the first day after Thanksgiving - Black Friday!
