How low can “you” go?

I was so bummed out after writing that last blog - I just had to find something to bring perspective and I did!  Not long ago I ran across this little thought from Max Lucado in his book, The Applause of Heaven….

But you Bethlehem in the Land of Judah, are you not least among the rulers of Judah; for out of you shall come a ruler - who will shepherd my people Israel…(Mt 2:6)

A small cathedral outside of Bethelem marks the supposed birthplace of Jesus.  Behind a high altar in the church is a cave… a little cavern lit by silver lamps.   You can enter the main edifice and admire the ancient church.  You can also enter the quiet cave that marks the spot of the birth of the King.  However, there is one stipulation…you have to stoop.  The door is so low you can’t go in standing up.

The same is true of the Christ.  You can see the world standing tall, but to really witness the Savior, you have to get down on your knees!

Lord, help me to stay low this Christmas.
