A “Giant” Breakthrough
OK for all of you bloggers jumping on-line for a spiritual thought or two, this may be a little disappointing day. I will go so far as to say, the Nothing’s too hard for God theme has been amazing for me personally - in that I am seeing so many people who really believe it! Our times in the altar yesterday were really incredible. Loneliness is real - people feel it and it was awesome to see people come along side those who were feeling lonely. Next week ought to really be a fun ride when we talk about - Fear!
But now to business at hand. I must admit most of my thoughts today have to do with football. And of course hats off to the Giants. Finally one of my teams broke through. What a relief. This started out as a season of discouragment and the Broncos, Jets, and CU Buffs made it sure it stayed that way all year.
But to the Giants who I think after week two I boldly blogged they “stink”. Well I owe a huge apology. Sorry for my doubts, my skepticism and my verbal abuse spoken at the TV set. You proved me and millions more wrong.
You did something very few thought you could do - win all those playoff games on the road…and of course last night’s in horrible conditions. I played in one of those “Ice bowls” in high school in Denver (-8 degrees) and I know how bad it hurts to get hit. But you did it! Congrats. Oh, sure you have the really big test still in front of you…but you have stepped up so far.
Granted you made it interesting with the fumbles, missed kicks and allowing the ball to go back to Mr. Brett several times…but in the end…you did it.
Just one on other note…there was also another big victory for me yesterday. In the finale of Amazing Race - the couple I was actually cheering for won it! I liked them because they were nice to each other and others. So I was glad they did it. My daughter told me I can’t mention who it is yet, because some of you still don’t know. So you can check on line to see the “my” winners!
Go Giants…Sorry Bill Bavagnoli.
