Missing from blog-ville

OK, I know I have been missing from blog-ville for a while - but I am back.  Due to a couple of trips over the 4th holiday I was away from the computer for a few days. I must say Donna and I did have a blast driving her new Mini-Cooper through the winding roads of the Adirondack mountains and wow… was that fun.  Donna actually let me drive for about two hours.  Please don’t let the NY Highway Patrol know it’s a fact a Mini can take a curve at 85mph.  And yes I have already repented of the sin of speeding.  Anyway, thanks to our friends for a great restful time.

But today it’s back to blog-ville.  Let me leave you with a verse to look up and meditate upon the rest of the week.  It was the one that jumped off the page to me this morning.

1 Peter 3:15, But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord (boss), and always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give a reason for the hope you have.  Be mindful that word answer is the Greek word - apologia.  You may think it means apology, but it is actually the word used for the apologetics… the Christian virtue of defending the faith by powerful insight and truth.

Also the word, “prepared” is the word hetoimos which means to be ready, willing and firm.

So let’s go for it.  First, set apart Christ as boss.  Then be prepared to show your personal hope to others by developing a powerful insight into the truth of God’s Word!
