South Africa Team Wrap-up
Well it’s Friday October 3 here in South Africa and we have made it to our hotel by the airport. We leave this evening… all are ready to head home… we’re exhausted- but thrilled to be here and able to witness God’s Wonder in both the Crusade and then on the amazing Safari!
As I noted a couple of days ago, the crusade ended with well over 2000 being saved and scores healed and delivered. It was a thrilling time. I’m so proud of the Bethany team. These guys and gals went very hard for almost two straight weeks. On our crusade days we were up early for outreaches or the pastor’s school and then out to the crusade where we would not return to our hotel until after 11PM. And catch it - not one complaint. Thanks team. Then on Tuesday it was off for the six-hour drive to Kruger and our “mini-break” for the safari/game drive. Once again the day started by being in the vehicle by 5:30 AM and ended after dinner around 9PM - so you are talking long but awesome days. We actually drove right through the bush - but I learned from our guides the animals think the vehicles are other animals and since they have never attacked - these “vehicles” are harmless… so even the wildest of animals can come very close to the road… and because God blessed us - some of them did! We were just strictly warned not to reach out the window or “break the perimeter” of the vehicle or the animals might spook and even charge! But friends we saw “up-close” and personal - elephants, lions, rhinos, and every kind of antelope you can imagine, and more. What a blast… what an amazing place! So God is good.
Now Donna and I are pumped to get home with family… both our great church and of course our kids and grandkids. I am so appreciative of a leadership team that encourages me and our whole church to go and touch our world. (hope you enjoy the pics)
